Adventure games have always been close to my heart. My first ever video game was Prince of Persia 1 (1989), a swashbuckling action-adventure game. Since then, I have always loved adventure-based games. As video games start to evolve from the early 90's different developers started to introduce unique features into the games to make them as immersive as possible. 

One such notable evolution is the interactivity in the games, ie, Interaction with non-playable characters, choices in your conversation, and other stuff like cooking, decoration, cleaning, etc. The Old School Runescape falls into that interactive adventure category in my book It takes you back into the time of point and click adventure games. It gives you nostalgia alongside a fun to play experience.

Old School Runescape is a free-to-play MMORPG game developed and published by Jagex games. When I installed it, I saw the lamps in a fort that instantly took me to my old memories of Prince of Persia's playing. In Old School Runescape, You can choose your character and work on his / her appearance, hair color, hairstyle to the character costume. Once you work on the appearance of your chosen character, the game starts. 

Old School Runescape reminds you of the classic point-and-click adventure games of the late 90's so it is nostalgic for the players who have played those adventure games. As you start the game, you came across different instructors who teach you how to cut wood, cook food, pray and go fishing. Similarly, your instructor teaches you how to fight with various weapons. 

The game starts on an island with a tutorial mode where different instructors teach you the combat and other daily life skills. All these skills are leveled up and get stronger as you progress into the game. 

The inventory of the player is huge in this game. You have tons of objects for combat and non-combat skills, including a hammer, wood, fire lighter, sword, dagger, shield, bow and arrow, ax. Moreover, the game offers excellent customization options for the characters. 

As I have played the mobile version, I can say that the camera work is incredible. You can revolve the entire game's environment by just swiping the mobile screen softly. It's a 360 degree experience. The camera movement is very smooth, and literally, you have the whole world at the distance of your fingers.

Like any other adventure game, you came across different boss fights in this game. During the boss fights, your combat skills have to be vital. If you have mastered your skills , it will be much more comfortable to defeat those creatures.

Old School Runescape is an addictive and fun-to-play game. However, the graphics quality could have been better. The gameplay, quests, and the overall experience is enough to keep you engaged. I am leveling up my skills gradually. I cannot wait to play more of this game. The game has a bank of recognition to its name. It has won many awards, including the best role-playing game award by the Independent Game Developers Association and game of the year awards from the British Academy Awards . Old School Runescape is worth playing. Let's try it ☺
