PSUs can be difficult to evaluate, especially when new. I have a new 650w because my 850w focus + from a year ago is silent, seems to give a very stable current which is good for all components, and great for those who wish to Over Clock their CPU &/or GPU.
There are many cheap PSUs available. Avoid them. First check brand, then read reviews. PSU is one thing that has to be reliable at least. A while ago I made the bad mistake of buying a non known brand PSU. It broke within 2 months - I didn't even claim a refund as it was only about 6,000 yen.
The focus plus gold is a mid price well known brand. After it's set up, you can trust it and forget about it. As mentioned it's silent, the documentation shows electronic ripple etc etc. It's very good indeed, and all professional reviews I have read are very good indeed.
I use my 850w with an i7 8086k (limited edition) coffee lake at 5.2GHz, and an over clocked GTX 1080ti.
Even when stress testing both to the max I never heard the PSU. It's efficient too, that's why my second one is only 650w. The system for that one is an i7 8700k running at 5GHz and a GTX 1080 plus many other things like multiple fans, water pump, and more. Even the 650w as of now is silent too. Very impressed indeed.
It's a bad but common mistake to buy cheap PSUs. It will wear out some components due to ripple power flow, and probably won't last for long. This product is mid range price, with high range operation and I feel completely happy with it. In fact, I never notice it, it just works, stays cool, and I've never heard it.
Recommended for piece of mind, excellent reputation of manufacturer, great warranty, and Japanese capacitors which are known to be the worlds best.
