2990WXのマザーボードとして購入しました、4.2GHｚの設定も問題なくでき、4GHｚで安定した常用が可能でした。付属品も豪華で満足しています。ただデザインがインテルのチップセットのマザーボードに比べると劣るように思えます、DTM用に組んだのでI/OにUSB2.0がないのが若干不便です。

CPU の値段が高いため購入する人は少ないかもしれないが、CPU を購入するなら合わせて購入したい逸品だと思います。
日本語のマニュアルもダウンロードできパソコンを組んだことがない方でもそれほど苦労することなく組み立てることができると思います。

マザーボードの中でも高価な部類に入ると思いますがそれほど頻繁に交換するパーツでもないためこちらのマザーボードをお薦めしたいです。

去年と今年と二枚買っています。

長所:10GネットワークカードをはじめM.2SSDを二枚を装着できるDIMM.2やwifiアンテナなど、色々な付属品が付いている。オンボードサウンドの質も悪くない。POST状態やCPU温度を表示するシステム有り

短所:CPUソケットの一番ネジが難有り、PCHヒートシンクのネジも固い。DIMM.2のM.2SSDはヒートシンクを付けるスペースがない（空冷クーラーが必要）

TR関連の専用マザーだけあって高価ですが、高いだけの価値はある製品です。
ネットワークカードやらおまけも多いです。

M.2SSDはボード上に三枚装着可能で、メモリ横のDIMM.2で二枚、右下のPCHヒートシンク下に一枚装着できます。
ただメモリ横はスペースが無いので、ヒートシンクを付けるのは難しいです。
PCHヒートシンク下もネジがかなり固かったり、付けるのが手間取ります。

一番困ったのがCPUのソケットにはfoxconn製のものが取り付けられているのですが、一番のネジの長さが足りないのか、普通にやろうとすると、空回りしてかなり締めにくいです。
1番に垂直な力を結構かけながらやりますが、壊れないかヒヤヒヤします。
今年末も同じボードを購入しましたが、締めにくいのはそのままでした。

短所部分もありますが、それ以外はとても高品質なボードでした。
オンボードサウンドも安物のサウンドカードならば買う必要がないほど、十分な品質を持っています。

また、左端にはlivedashというPCの状態を表示するシステムがあるのですが、これはPOSTコードの表示や、現在のCPU温度の表示が出来るなど、とても便利です（カスタマイズも可能）。

ちなみに電源を供給するとバックはLEDでイルミネーションされます。

海外のパワーユーザーのレビューによると、Pci-expressスロットで深刻な相性問題発生。
またメモリ−８枚挿しでも組み合わせによる相性問題が起きたと書かれています。
もしこのマザーを買われる場合、相性保障があるショップで買ったほうがいいですね。
そもそも出たばかりのパーツは様子を見てから買うのが鉄則です。

M2スロットが２個付いていますが、１個はヒートシンクの下に取り付けないといけないのでめんどくさい。
BIOSがシングルBIOSなので何か有った時の為にダブルBIOSにしてほしかった。
全体的には良いですがあと一歩足りないです。

Esta targeta por ser una de gama alta debería tener un buen estándar de calidad , ya que la primera que me mandaron fallo el bios, al parecer es un problema común, en algunas targeta de esta gama con una actualización en la página del fabricante te ahorrará ciertos detalles con esta targeta, eso no quita que sea una de las tarjetas mejores diseñadas por asus, agradezco infinitamente a amazon por la entrega que fue rápida y sin demoras sobre el reemplazo de esta misma, llegó en menos del tiempo estimado.

I was nervous to buy the Asus Zenith Extreme because of the negative reviews but I think those are from amateur first-time builders who didn’t know what the heck were doing. Also, you never buy a new motherboard and platform the first month it’s out, you wait for the BIOS to stablize. That said.. here’s my experience:

Comes with everything but the kitchen sink. Lots of goodies and high quality parts. Fit without issue in my Corsair 760T case. It is an extended ATX although chances are if you are planning a Threadripper build, then you have a decent case. Installed the board in seconds. I had no issue installing the CPU screws. I did need to use a little force, but not nearly as much as some people claimed. Maybe they were just weaklings? No clue. I immediately installed the latest BIOS 0804, as I never start a new build with anything other than the latest BIOS. Everything ran just fine, and Windows installed on M.2 drive in no time at all.

The good: Haven’t had a single stability issue since launch. Parts all high quality. Comes with a lot of options.

The bad: If you install Noctua NH U14S TR4-SP3 cooler (the best Threadripper cooler you can buy) you will lose the first PCI-E slot. Not a deal-breaker for me since only a crazy person who lives in a freezer runs 4 x SLI. Only 6 SATA ports... I can live with 6 SATA ports but given the price, 8 SATA ports were expected.

Other: I tried with 8 memory sticks (3200Mhz) not in the manufacturer QVL and it wasn’t stable over long period (and then returned them). This is a problem with all Threadripper platform, not just this motherboard. Recommend you stick to exactly 4 memory sticks. Also, if you happen to have a Logitech Z-5500 and output over digital fiber, the drivers won’t play iTunes music as DTS nor Dolby. You can get DTS/Dolby surround sound in apps that use it, but the driver (unlike some other drivers I’ve had) won’t play stereo sounds in DTS/Dolby mode.

In conclusion: Ignore the negative reviews from the people who bought it on the first day, the board is excellent and stable.

I setup a new build using this board and the 1950X over the weekend. Full specs include:

64GB Corsair Vegenance (4x16GB)
2x m.2 NVMe SSDs (500GB 950 Pro and 960 Evo)
Threadripper 1950X
Vega 64 Liquid Cooled
Corsair AX1200i PSU
Noctua NH-U14S

The installation procedure was easy to follow, didn't have issues getting the screws threaded like some others reported. The cooler I used (NH-U14S) hangs over the first PCI-E slot slightly so I installed my video card in slot #3.

I didn't have any issues on the initial boot, all drives were detected and had no errors with the memory. However I immediately updated to the latest BIOS from ASUS' site before installing an OS (as I always do when setting up a new build).

By default the RAM runs at 2133 MHz. I tried enabling the XMP profile which clocks my RAM at 3000 MHz (its rated speed) and it failed to start despite being on the QVL list. Ryzen has been picky with running some RAM at higher speeds and it is the same deal with Threadripper, so I doubt it is exclusive to this board. Perhaps BIOS updates will fix this in time.

I've heard people have had better luck with GSKILL RAM that uses Samsung B-dies. I would have gotten that but the Corsair RAM was leftover from my previous X99 build so I am sticking with it for now.

The boot time is very quick compared to my X99 rig, about 25 seconds from the time I press the power button. X99 setup was double that.

I'm running a lot of VM's on my Threadripper build and everything performs great. Didn't think my next upgrade would take me to 16 cores!

** Update on RAM compatibility** I was able to get my kit running at its rated speed by changing the Command Rate to 2T. Apparently, the latest beta BIOS automatically sets this on 2DPC configs, though I'm sticking to the stable BIOS for now: https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?95413-Zenith-Extreme-Beta-UEFI-9960-0601-9910

I have changed my rating to 5 stars since I was able to resolve the memory issues.

Horrible experience. Original mainboard was defective. Received RMA mainboard to find another defect with memory slot C1 - all memory slots worked, with the exception of C1. After 14 emails with Asus support and more than 20 days - they switched people on the case randomly so that I had to explain the issue over and over again and every time provided the usual: "sorry for the inconvenience" and "apologize for the issue" but did nothing to fix it. The support persons that called me never read the email chain for the case, so it was frustrating experience of starting over and over from the beginning. They asked me for an available time frame to call me and called me with 5-6 hours difference including on Sunday when I wasn't able to take the call. Two different support centers in two different geographical locations with apparent loose synchronization between them. Finally I received approval for the second RMA and although I specifically requested and they agreed to send me unused mainboard they sent me another one with obvious signs of usage - thermal paste on the CPU slot and scratches on the decorative heatsync. I don't have any more time to build this computer again and again and to spend multiple hours to investigate the issues with their motherboards, that's why I requested an unused, possibly unopened box. In my opinion they have pile of defective mainboards and send them as a replacements for the defective mainboard they receive from their clients. First of the RMA mainboards were definitely not tested, as the problem with the second RAM slot C1 should have been easily detected, even with only 2 or 4 sticks of RAM out of 8. So far 3 months since I bought the mainboard have passed and I still don't have working product in hand, not to mention many hours debugging and the time sending it back and forth and dismantling and mounting the PC. Bought another mainboard and even another CPU, because they blamed the memory and then the CPU for the problems, just to find out that the second mainboard from Gigabyte works well with both CPU's and both sets of RAM. Now I have another used products in my hand, despite what they promised and I don't want to repeat the same procedure again - swapping processors and testing.

Bad Motherboard, forced to return it. Takes a very long time to start up. My previous build from 2012-2013 boots up and passes the Bios faster.

Lots of errors from failure to read NVME SSD disk drive, to windows crashing when you update nvidia gtx titan graphics drivers. Had to clone the hard drive to get windows 10 to even boot, but then as soon as you update the graphics drivers it crashes windows/creates black screen/freezes etc. Always a failure when installing windows 10 from either DVD disk or bootable USB. Crashes midway through.

Called telephone support twice, both agents told me I had an incompatible hard drive and other hardware. The NVME ssd i was using was the samsung 960 series MZ-V6P512B and they said it wasn't on the list, even though it was because I researched before buying. Couldn't get all 4 ram sticks to work either, they were corsair vengeance 3200mhz. Always got errors when all 4 of the 32GBS were plugged in. Had to settle for just 2 sticks plugged in for it to work.

BIOS is bad. Had liquid cooling and the bios said the temperature was 69C. Telephone support told me to update BIOS to the latest version, go from 0305 to 05 version. After I did that, the temperature in bios showed correct number of 35C, but all the other problems above still persisted.

Probably the worst experience I've ever had with a new build. Very expensive build, nearly $4K total, but the board failed me. I returned everything I bought off Amazon for the build.
